New York City will expand real-time bus arrival information to thousands of additional stops across the five boroughs, with installations beginning this year under Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s administration. NYC Department of Transportation Commissioner Mike Flynn announced that the city plans to double the number of bus stops with real-time arrival information from about 700 to 1,400 as an initial phase of the expansion. The city plans to bring the technology to 2,900 bus stops by 2030 through the joint city and state Next Stop: Fast Buses, Better Service action plan.
