Jewish News 24 — video status

A second prominent Flatbush rabbi has spoken out against the style of Rabbi Eli Stefansky’s Daf Yomi shiurim, questioning whether Torah learning should be presented in the casual and entertainment-driven manner used in some of Stefansky’s programs. The criticism comes in a newly circulating audio recording featuring Rabbi Binyomin Cohen, author of the Chelkas Binyamin, Rosh Kollel of Gur Aryeh Kollel and rabbi of Kehal Talmidei Yeshivos in Flatbush. Cohen criticizes a Daf Yomi siyum featuring rap music and entertainment, calling it a “disgusting spectacle,” but says his deeper concern is the casual style of the shiur itself.
