⚠️ MTA SPEED CAMERA FINES BEGIN SEPT. 22: Starting Tuesday, the MTA will begin issuing fines to drivers caught going more than 10 mph over the posted speed limit in active work zones across its seven bridges and two tunnels in NYC. Mobile cameras mounted on unmarked vehicles will operate when work is underway, with signs posted ahead of enforcement areas. Fines are $50 for a first violation, $75 for a second within 18 months, and $100 for subsequent violations. The civil violations carry no license points and are not reported to insurers. The program began issuing warnings on June 30.
