IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered heightened military readiness across all fronts following a Monday security assessment ahead of Israel’s October 27 elections. Beginning Thursday, soldiers’ leave will be restricted, senior commanders will increase their presence at military headquarters, and additional forces will reinforce Judea and Samaria, particularly the Samaria and Binyamin regions, under the Paratroopers Brigade Headquarters. More troops will also be deployed across air, sea, and land fronts as needed. Zamir stressed that the IDF’s mission is to ensure elections proceed safely and on schedule.
