🚇 NEW: TRUMP ADMINISTRATION PROPOSES TYING TRANSIT FUNDING TO BIRTH AND MARRIAGE RATES: The Federal Transit Administration is proposing changes to its Capital Investment Grants program that would give projects in areas with higher birth and marriage rates a larger federal share of costs. Under the proposal, published October 1, New Starts and Core Capacity projects could receive up to 10 additional percentage points in federal funding if local birth and marriage rates meet, exceed, or fall within 1% below the national average. The proposal is open for public comment until November 16.
