Thousands gathered in Alei Zahav on Motzaei Yom Kippur for the 11 p.m. funeral of Netanel Shakron, a father of six killed in a terror shooting at a natural spring near Neve Tzuf. Shakron was at the spring with his 16-year-old son, Yoav, before Yom Kippur when the gunman opened fire. Shakron warned his son moments before he was shot, allowing Yoav to escape. “Thank you for saving my life,” Yoav said at the funeral. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and IDF Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth were among those who attended the funeral.
