The Israeli Air Force has officially reopened the 193rd Squadron at Palmachim Airbase after it was disbanded in August 2025. The squadron, now equipped with SH-60F Seahawk helicopters, will work closely with the Israeli Navy's Missile Boat Flotilla on maritime missions, including protecting Israel's strategic assets, securing freedom of navigation, supporting ground forces, and providing naval fire support. The IDF says the unit strengthens Israel's air-sea capabilities and expands its operational reach in the maritime domain.
