💉 NEW WEIGHT-LOSS DRUG DELIVERS MORE THAN DOUBLE THE WEIGHT LOSS OF OZEMPIC IN PHASE 3 CLINICAL TRIAL — Eli Lilly’s experimental weight-loss drug, retatrutide, produced more than twice the weight loss of Ozempic’s highest approved dose in a Phase 3 clinical trial involving over 1,000 adults with Type 2 diabetes. According to ABC News, patients taking retatrutide lost an average of 44–47 pounds over 80 weeks, compared with approximately 21 pounds for those taking Ozempic. The once-weekly injection also showed greater improvements in blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure. Retatrutide targets three hormone receptors involved in appetite and metabolism. The drug is not yet FDA-approved, but Eli Lilly plans to seek approval in early 2027.
