REPORT: TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ENCOURAGES ORBÁN TO SEEK UN SECRETARY-GENERAL POST: The Trump administration is encouraging former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to seek the UN secretary-general post, and is exploring a joint candidacy that Russia and China would reportedly back, according to The Wall Street Journal. Orbán is said to be interested but unwilling to run without confidence he can win. Trump and Vice President JD Vance are reportedly expected to support a bid, and an announcement could come after the Nov. 3 U.S. midterms. Orbán declined to comment, and no decision has been announced.
