PRESERVING THE HISTORY OF CHASSIDUS: Baruch Dayan HaEmes. Rabbi Dr. Yitzchak Alfasi, one of the foremost historians and chroniclers of Chassidus, was niftar today. Born in Tel Aviv in 1929 to a Gerer Chassidic family, he devoted much of his life to documenting the Rebbes, Chassidim, dynasties and stories of the Chassidic world. He authored more than 90 books, including major encyclopedic works covering thousands of Chassidic personalities, helping preserve countless names and stories for future generations. Remarkably, he produced his enormous body of work by hand, without a computer or a team of assistants. He was also a rav in Tel Aviv, taught at Bar-Ilan University and received the Rabbi Kook Prize for Torah Literature. After a lifetime devoted to ensuring that earlier generations would not be forgotten, he leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of Jewish history. Yehi zichro baruch. Join the JustMyIsrael Status!
