UMAN COMES TO YAVNE’EL: With the annual Rosh Hashanah journey to Uman becoming increasingly complicated — first by COVID, then the war in Ukraine, and now by difficulties facing some Israeli yeshiva students over their draft status — a group of Breslov chassidim is preparing an unusual alternative: bringing the Uman experience to northern Israel. Hundreds are reportedly expected to gather in Yavne’el, near the Kinneret, where organizers plan to recreate the schedule and atmosphere of Uman, holding the tefillos and minhagim at the same times they take place in Uman. A chazzan who regularly leads the Rosh Hashanah tefillos in Uman is also expected to participate in the Yavne’el gathering. Join the JustMyIsrael Status!
