NEW NEIGHBORHOOD FOR KEDUMIM: After years of planning, work has begun on Nachal Te'enim, a new neighborhood in Kedumim, the first Jewish community in the Shomron after the Six Day War. It was founded on Chanukah 1975 after the Sebastia standoff, and today about 4,500 people live there, west of Shechem. The plan calls for 380 apartments, about 57 of them affordable housing for young couples, along with parks, a shopping center, public buildings and schools. The local council says it will strengthen the town's security, link it one day to nearby Givat Chemed, and bring in hundreds of new families. (I've been there, its gorgeous!)
