Update: Qatar has "categorically" denied allegations that it interfered in Israel's election or funded efforts to influence the outcome. Foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari called the accusations "ridiculous and dangerous in equal measure", saying Qatar was being made a scapegoat for Israeli politicians' failures.
