ANOTHER WATER MAIN BREAK HITS WEST HOLLYWOOD — JUST ONE WEEK AFTER MASSIVE FLOOD Another water main break hit the West Hollywood area early Thursday morning, sending water onto Santa Monica Boulevard near Laurel Avenue around 6 a.m. Minor street flooding was reported as utility crews responded to the scene. The break comes exactly one week after the massive 36-inch water main rupture on Sunset Boulevard, which sent millions of gallons of water through West Hollywood, damaged vehicles and properties, and left behind a massive sinkhole. The two breaks are not believed to be connected, but another water main failure so soon after last week’s disaster is raising renewed concerns about the area’s aging underground infrastructure.
