Sunset Boulevard Expected To Reopen Tonight After Massive West Hollywood Water Main Break Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood is expected to reopen late Friday evening, more than a week after the massive water main break at Sunset and Holloway Drive caused major flooding, a large sinkhole and widespread street closures. LADWP has not announced an exact reopening time, saying only that Sunset is expected to reopen late tonight after crews complete final paving, striping and safety work. Even after Sunset reopens, some closures or restrictions could remain around Holloway Drive and portions of Palm Avenue, Larrabee Street and San Vicente Boulevard while restoration work continues. The rupture released an estimated 17 million gallons of water and caused major traffic disruptions throughout West Hollywood. Permanent paving, sidewalk and other repairs will continue in the area even after Sunset Boulevard reopens.
