LA Scoop: A Note About Our Scooters on Shabbos Article Following our article about the growing popularity of scooters on Shabbos, LA Scoop has received a tremendous amount of feedback and discussion from readers. I want to personally credit and thank Louis Keene of the Forward, whose thought-provoking article on this topic inspired me to write about what we are seeing in our own Los Angeles communities. You can read Louis Keene’s original article in the Forward here: My intention in writing the article was exactly that — to provoke thoughtful and respectful discussion, not to be condescending or to tell anyone what they should or should not do on Shabbos. There are different Halachic opinions, community standards and personal practices. LA Scoop is not here to pasken or judge anyone. My hope is simply that people can think about the issue, speak with their own Rav when appropriate, and feel comfortable with the Shabbos practices they choose to follow.
