Planning a Trip to Hoover Dam? Visitor Access Temporarily Closed for Repairs Many Southern California families heading to Las Vegas this summer like to include a stop at the Hoover Dam. However, visitors should know that the Hoover Dam Visitor Center and tours are temporarily closed while repair work is underway. Officials say the dam itself remains safe, but public access has been suspended until the necessary equipment repairs are completed. If Hoover Dam is part of your vacation plans, it's a good idea to check the latest status before making the drive. While the surrounding area and viewpoints may still be accessible, the visitor experience at the dam has been significantly impacted until repairs are finished.
