3-Year-Old Girl Bitten By Rattlesnake While Picking Up Amazon Package A frightening incident in Santa Clarita is serving as a warning after a 3-year-old girl was bitten by a rattlesnake while going outside to pick up an Amazon package. The snake was reportedly hiding near the package when the child approached it. Thankfully, she was rushed to the hospital, treated with antivenom and is recovering after the terrifying ordeal. Southern California is home to several rattlesnake species, including the Southern Pacific rattlesnake, one of the most commonly encountered species in the Los Angeles area. Rattlesnakes are especially active during warmer months and can be found not only on hiking trails, but near homes, bushes and yards. With Bein Hazmanim here and many families and children enjoying the outdoors, please exercise extra caution. A rattlesnake bite is a medical emergency and requires immediate treatment.
