Another Water Main Break Floods Wonderland Avenue in the Hollywood Hills A water main break sent water rushing down Wonderland Avenue near Laurel Pass in the Hollywood Hills on Thursday afternoon, prompting a large response from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the Los Angeles Fire Department. The break occurred around 1:30 p.m. near the 8500 block of Wonderland Avenue, close to Wonderland Avenue Elementary School. About 100 customers temporarily lost water service while crews shut off the damaged main to stop the flooding. Wonderland Avenue remains closed between Laurel Pass Avenue and Vado Drive as crews assess damage to the roadway and begin repairs. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further notice.
