504-Foot Skyscraper Could Transform Sunset And Highland A massive new skyscraper is proposed for 6800 Sunset Boulevard, at the southwest corner of Sunset and Highland, potentially bringing a dramatic change to the Hollywood skyline. Plans call for a 42-story tower rising approximately 504 feet, with 304 apartments, a 115-room hotel, and roughly 23,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space. A separate building would include 80 affordable apartments for very-low-income seniors. The development would replace the low-rise commercial buildings and parking currently on the property, where Kevin Hart’s former Hart House restaurant was located. The project has received city approval, but construction has not yet started and no firm groundbreaking date has been announced. If built, the 504-foot tower would become one of the most prominent buildings in Hollywood.
