Los Angeles Scoop — photo status

Sometimes Old-Fashioned Security Works Best A truck parked on Crest Drive just south of Pico Boulevard has a heavy-duty lock on its front left wheel after previously being stolen. Sometimes an old-fashioned, visible deterrent may be more effective. As LA Scoop reported earlier, a GPS tracker on a stolen BMW X5 was simply ripped off and discarded a few blocks away. A wheel lock may not be high-tech — but thieves certainly can't miss it.
