*Two Major Incidents Snarl 210 Freeway — Westbound Closure Continues* It has been a rough day on the 210 Freeway, with two major incidents just hours apart causing major traffic problems through Sunland and La Crescenta. The first happened shortly after 9 a.m. near Sunland Boulevard, when a big rig caught fire on the westbound 210. The flames spread to nearby brush and initially forced all westbound lanes to close. Most lanes later reopened. Then, shortly before 11 a.m., two big rigs and a sedan were involved in a major crash near Pennsylvania Avenue in La Crescenta. One semi overturned, spilling cargo and debris across the freeway. At least one report says the overturned truck landed on top of the sedan. As of this evening, CHP is still listing a SigAlert on the westbound 210 at Pennsylvania Avenue. Drivers should expect significant delays through the area and consider taking the 10 or the 60 freeway as an alternate route.
