60 Freeway To Close Overnight For Five Straight Weekends Drivers traveling between Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley and Inland Empire should prepare for five consecutive weekends of overnight closures on the westbound 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar. All westbound lanes will be completely closed between Lemon Avenue and Diamond Bar Boulevard on the following weekends: August 29–30 September 5–6 September 12–13 September 19–20 September 26–27 The freeway will be closed from 12:01 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and Sunday mornings from 12:01 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. Several ramps and connectors will also close, including the westbound 60 ramps at Grand Avenue and Diamond Bar Boulevard, the southbound 57 connector to the westbound 60, and the westbound 60 connector to the southbound 57. The Grand Avenue Bridge will also be closed. Drivers heading toward Los Angeles may want to avoid the area entirely and consider alternate freeway routes, including the 10 Freeway or 210 Freeway, depending on their starting point and destination. Officials are warning motorists who remain on the 60 corridor to expect delays and allow significant extra travel time. The closures are part of the massive 57/60 Confluence Project, designed to improve safety and reduce congestion at one of Southern California's busiest freeway interchanges, which carries roughly 350,000 vehicles every day.
