Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu landed at a military airfield in New York rather than JFK ahead of his UN General Assembly address.
Reports cite coordination difficulties with U.S. authorities and concerns that New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani could order the Israeli aircraft to leave.
Netanyahu is expected to stay only a few hours and depart the same evening.
His speech is set to address the war with Iran, the October 7 anniversary, and broader issues. He has previewed “surprises” and vowed to counter what he called “terrible lies” at the UN.
