Three years after the massacre, the IDF began a large-scale operation overnight to demolish dozens of terror memorials in the West Bank, according to Amit Segal. The IDF addressed residents in a letter: "Security forces will not allow incitement to terrorism or the glorification of terrorists. Anyone who glorifies terrorism or supports it will be arrested on charges of incitement, and any memorial erected to glorify terrorists will be demolished. Terrorism has brought, and will bring, nothing but destruction and devastation, just as Hamas has brought devastation to the Gaza Strip for years." Minister Smotrich and MK Sukkot welcomed the operation: "The State of Israel is dismantling the infrastructure of incitement to terrorism."
