Arkia CEO Oz Berlowitz revealed at the ITech Israel Information Technology Conference in Tel Aviv on October 15 that AI is already transforming the airline’s operations, helping reduce its workforce by approximately 20%. Despite the technological revolution, he warned that AI won’t make flights cheaper, saying fuel prices remain the biggest factor. Berlowitz also revealed that Arkia doubled its flights to Hanoi, while its planned Tokyo service remains on hold due to landing approval challenges. Regarding pilotless planes, he said he doubts passengers would be willing to board one. Editors Note: With Arkia’s customer service already receiving criticism from passengers, it remains unclear how cutting 20% of the workforce will improve the customer experience.
