Did You Know YYZ Has an Eagle on Staff? Toronto Pearson Airport has a bald eagle named Ivan as part of its wildlife-control team. His job is to help keep other birds away from the airport and reduce the risk of dangerous bird strikes. With nearby waterways and creeks attracting birds that may try to nest around the airport, the birds of prey help chase them away and discourage them from nesting in the area. Pearson’s wildlife program also uses Harris hawks, peregrine falcons and hybrid falcons/hawks.
