The FAA is ending exemptions allowing single-pilot operations of certain older Cessna Citation jets, effective September 29, 2026. The change follows a safety review and comes after the December 2025 Citation 550 crash that killed former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle and six others. The NTSB investigation remains ongoing, and the FAA has not said the lack of a second pilot caused the crash.
