An ICE agent shot a man around 4:20 PM Thursday during an attempted arrest at Marble Hill Avenue and West 225th Street in the Marble Hill section of the Bronx. The man was in a car when the shot was fired. He's conscious at a nearby hospital, and sources tell the NY Post his injuries aren't life-threatening. He hasn't been identified yet. NYPD says its officers weren't on scene when it happened and are now assisting DHS, and the FBI is helping too. Video from the scene shows armed agents securing the area afterward. New York City's sanctuary detainer laws keep local police and jails from turning most illegal aliens over to ICE, which pushes agents into street arrests like this one, with everything that can go wrong. No official ICE statement or bodycam yet on what led up to the shot.
