Russia launched its largest combined missile-and-drone attack on Ukraine overnight, firing 167 weapons — 39 ballistic missiles and 128 drones — primarily targeting energy infrastructure in Kyiv and Kharkiv ahead of the heating season. Ballistic strikes hit Kyiv's Darnytska CHP-4 power plant and a 9-story apartment building, killing at least 3 and injuring 21–27, including a child. At least 600,000 people lost electricity, with 26 power facilities and 4 oil-and-gas sites damaged. Zelensky called the attack "deliberate and demonstrative in scale," a direct violation of Trump's energy ceasefire, and "an unprecedented show of disrespect toward the United States." He noted Ukraine had not struck Russian energy infrastructure during the ceasefire period. Warning systems failed for the second consecutive night — missiles were detected only in the terminal phase as they approached Kyiv.
