*New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani dined at a Palestinian restaurant on the anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel* On October 7, the third anniversary of the Hamas attack, Mamdani visited Hinds Hall by Ayat, a Palestinian restaurant in Manhattan, where he met with Palestinian families. Earlier, the mayor attended a memorial vigil organized by Israelis for Peace, which was disrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters. Some booed Mamdani and accused him of betraying the Palestinian movement. That same day, the mayor issued a statement condemning the Hamas attack while also describing Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip as "genocide," sparking another wave of criticism.
