Brooklyn — An off-duty NYPD officer proved that a first responder is never truly off the clock when he stopped to help a man in distress in Brooklyn. Surveillance video shows the moment a man’s silver van suddenly came to a halt in the middle of a bustling intersection in Borough Park just before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. The sudden stop caused another vehicle to nearly rear-end the driver at a crosswalk, the video shows.
