Marine One departed the White House on Tuesday, but air traffic at nearby Reagan National Airport reportedly continued instead of stopping as required, prompting the NTSB to consider investigating a possible loss of separation between aircraft. The FAA said air traffic controllers remained in contact with both pilots throughout the incident, while the White House said President Trump was never in danger. The incident is drawing scrutiny because the safety procedures were designed to prevent conflicts following the deadly Reagan Airport crash earlier this year.
