An Alpine rescue team in France was left facing a complex operation when a paraglider hit a mountain cliff and was left precariously perched on a narrow ledge some 200 meters up. Images and video from the CRS Alpes, an elite police rescue unit, show the dramatic rescue on August 16. The paraglider was not injured, CRS Alpes said, despite being thrown against the rocks three times when his primary chute failed.
