🇮🇷 A bulk carrier has partially sunk off Iran's coast near Bandar Abbas, snapping in half right in the Strait of Hormuz. The LUNI, a St. Kitts and Nevis-flagged, Turkish-managed ship, took on water and split apart while sailing from India to the UAE's Jebel Ali. All crew made it out safely. Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization confirmed the sinking, which maritime sources pin on a collision north of Qeshm Island, made worse by the ship's 32-year age finally giving out. Rumors of a "drifting mine" spread fast given everything going on in the region, but there's no evidence of mines or foul play.
