When he got to the chupah, he saw that the Stretiner Rebbe of Boro Park - a relative of the kallah - was there, and he insisted that the Stretiner Rebbe be given the kibbud instead. After a while, those gathered around the chupah prevailed upon the Nikolsburger to accept the bracha.
