*UPDATE: Jackson Police Identify Suspects in Bias Crime Investigation at BMG Property* The Jackson Township Police Department says it has identified several suspects in connection with the recent burglary, vandalism, and bias crime at the BMG property on South Hope Chapel Road. According to police, seven individuals unlawfully entered the property, caused extensive damage, and wrote antisemitic and anti-African American messages on classroom blackboards and other areas throughout the school. Investigators say the incident is being prosecuted as a bias crime in addition to burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and other related offenses. Police also announced they are investigating three separate incidents of criminal mischief at the Chai Lifeline property on County Line Road as bias crimes. During those incidents, windows at the property were intentionally damaged. Due to the repeated nature of the vandalism targeting a Jewish faith-based organization, authorities said the incidents are being treated as bias crimes.
