While healing in a clinical setting, I noticed various people—strangers going from room to room—visiting patients to try to lift their spirits. While the intentions behind these visits are undeniably kind and rooted in a desire to bring comfort, I want to gently raise a perspective that is often overlooked: the impact these unannounced drop-ins from unfamiliar faces can have on patient privacy and dignity.
