Two storms are set to batter the UK, with an amber wind warning in place for parts of south-west England from 1am to 10am on Friday, bringing gusts of up to 80mph, heavy rain, travel disruption, power cuts and dangerous coastal waves. Storm Boelo, the season’s second named storm, is expected to arrive on Saturday, following Storm Austen, bringing further heavy rain and 70–80mph gusts to Northern Ireland, Scotland and parts of northern England.
