The UK’s largest radio telescope, the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank, could stop operating as a scientific facility after March 2028 after UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) decided to end funding for the e-MERLIN telescope network. The University of Manchester is seeking alternative funding, but if none is secured, the telescope may no longer be used for radio astronomy research. UKRI said the decision followed a review to focus investment on projects with the greatest long-term scientific impact. JOIN TMS: *https://wa.me/447776235803*
