The UK's largest teaching union, the NEU, has rejected a key recommendation of a government-backed review into antisemitism in schools. Sir David Bell's review urged all schools and colleges to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism, and Education Secretary Lucy Powell said she would write to institutions pressing them to adopt it. NEU general secretary Daniel Kebede, whose union represents around 500,000 members, called the definition the "wrong approach", saying it "risks deepening the problem rather than tackling it" and could stifle classroom discussion. Shadow education secretary Laura Trott described the union's position as "pathetic". JOIN TMS: *https://wa.me/447776235803*
