SALFORD – UPDATE: Harley Elliot, 20, of Salford, and McKenzie Smyth, 19, of Bury, have been charged with going equipped with a knife to cause criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon on Singleton Road and surrounding areas on Sunday early morning. Counter Terrorism Policing North West is leading the investigation, supported by GMP. Both men are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court this afternoon. At a recent meeting, GMP Assistant Chief Constable Mark Dexter thanked Shomrim and members of the community for reporting their concerns. He said police would continue to work closely with the local Jewish community, as part of strengthened policing plans.
