Mohammed Bashir, 31, allegedly helped Heaton Park synagogue attacker Jihad Al‑Shamie plan an attack on the UK Defence Academy in Shrivenham, driving him there for surveillance before both men destroyed their phones. Al‑Shamie was later shot dead by police during the synagogue attack in which two Jewish were killed. Prosecutors say WhatsApp messages and voice notes found on seized phones show Bashir was a “long-standing, committed jihadist” and that the planned attack was intended to cause multiple deaths and have national and international impact.
