PM Andy Burnham has announced plans to clean up three of the UK’s worst illegal waste dumps, with sites in Kent, Surrey and West Yorkshire to be assessed.Fines for waste offences will rise from £300 to £5,000, while the Environment Agency will get greater powers to seize assets linked to waste crime.Burnham said organised criminal networks must be targeted and made to pay for the damage and clean-up.
