*🇺🇸- Senate Judiciary Advances Todd Blanche for Attorney General* The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 12-10 along party lines on August 4, 2026, to advance Todd Blanche’s nomination as U.S. Attorney General. The vote followed a deal resolving concerns from Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Thom Tillis over a proposed $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund. Blanche confirmed the fund would not move forward. Blanche, Trump’s former personal attorney and current acting attorney general, was nominated in June after Pam Bondi’s dismissal. The nomination now heads to the full Senate for a possible vote this week.
