*🇮🇱-47 Persian Jews From New York Make Aliyah Together* Forty-seven new immigrants from New York’s Mashhadi Jewish community arrived in Israel last week and settled in Ra’anana. Their families fled Mashhad for New York after Iran’s 1979 revolution. After years of visits and three years of war, four families decided to make the move together. “We are part of a line of Jews who were exiled from Canaan to Babylon long ago,” one said. “Now it is time to make aliyah and raise my children as Israelis.” Around 100 people welcomed them at Ben Gurion Airport with Israeli flags and singing. The families later stepped into their new apartments on Kinneret Street in Ra’anana. Jordan Karmily, who arrived with his wife and six children, said: “All Jews need to understand that the exile is over and it is time to come home.” One dream still remains: flying one day from Ben Gurion Airport to Tehran.
