A 9-year-old Orthodox Jewish girl from South Florida is inspiring others after battling acute myeloid leukemia, or AML, in a story profiled by WPLG Local 10 News. Nava Seewald was diagnosed after experiencing headaches and began chemotherapy the next day at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Chai Lifeline supported Nava and her family throughout her treatment and later helped her attend Camp Simcha, a New York camp for children with cancer. Nava is now cancer-free and enjoying camp. She hopes to return every year and eventually become a counselor. Her mother, Rivky Seewald, said Nava has shown remarkable strength throughout her battle.
