*🇳🇵-Rescue Underway In Nepal After Flash Flood Kills More Than 270, Dozens Of Americans Missing* Rescue teams are searching valleys and debris in Nepal after a devastating flash flood killed more than 270 people. At least 63 Americans remain unaccounted for, according to Nepal’s tourism board. Hundreds of other people, many of them tourists and pilgrims, are also missing across Nepal and neighboring Tibet. The U.S. Embassy in Nepal says it is working with local authorities and tour companies to assist affected Americans. The flood hit Wednesday after a glacial collapse sent a wall of mud, ice, and water through mountain valleys near the Nepal-Tibet border. Entire communities were swept away. Roads and bridges were destroyed, slowing rescue efforts. Thousands of army and police personnel, along with helicopters, are on the ground. Some survivors have already been pulled out, including a small number of foreign nationals. Families waiting for news should contact the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu or the State Department for updates.
