*🇺🇸🇰🇷-Trump Orders Substantial Cut To Joint Military Drills With South Korea* President Trump has directed the Pentagon to substantially reduce upcoming joint military exercises with South Korea. He said it is too late to cancel the drills entirely and instructed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to scale them back. Trump cited South Korea’s refusal to join U.S. efforts to denuclearize Iran. He also pointed to the high cost of the exercises and his “very good relationship” with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The annual drills, including Ulchi Freedom Shield, involve thousands of troops and are designed to deter threats from North Korea.
