*🇺🇸-Coast Guard Jet Carrying DHS Secretary Makes Emergency Landing At Reagan* A Coast Guard jet carrying Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin and other DHS officials made an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon at Reagan National Airport after losing an engine. The C-37A, a military Gulfstream with 14 people aboard, reported the failure while heading toward the D.C. area. The pilot told controllers they had just lost the right engine and wanted an immediate landing at DCA. Everyone on board landed safely around 1:35 p.m. Airport fire and rescue checked the plane, then cleared it off the runway. Other flights were not disrupted. Mullin later said the Coast Guard pilots made the single-engine landing feel routine. “No panic, just straight professionalism,” he wrote. “After we landed, the pilots told me that was a first for them. We could not have been in better hands.” The cause of the engine failure has not been released.
